Ruby Stewart

Love of Dance follows a single dancer returning to the studio after years away from the practice. The work is personal: I danced when I was younger and stopped just before university, not realizing until later how much I would miss it. This series grew from that feeling: the complicated experience of returning to something you once loved, navigating the gap between memory and the present body. The images trace both the joy of that return and the vulnerability of beginning again.

    Ruby Stewart

    Ruby Stewart is a London/Edinburgh-based photographer currently on exchange in Toronto from her home university in Edinburgh. She loves photographing gigs and has found a new passion for sport and dance photography. Her work has been featured in TMU’s student newspaper, The Eyeopener. She is eager to continue exploring these avenues during her time in Toronto.
