Ashley’s Bedroom

In a monochrome image, a young woman with dark, flowing hair, dressed in a black top and light-colored pants, sits on the floor, leaning against a light-toned wall. She looks directly at the viewer with an earnest gaze. The wall behind her is richly decorated with a prominent botanical print on the left, and a busy collage of diverse items on the right, including posters for Joan Jett and Fleetwood Mac, a Radiohead logo, various art prints, and stickers.

Ashley’s Bedroom explores the intimate ways a room can reflect a person’s identity. A bedroom is more than a place to sleep — it becomes a portrait shaped through objects, arrangements, and small personal touches. I’ve spent a lot of time with my friend Ashley, and her room has always captivated me. Though modest in size, it feels rich in personality: handwritten notes from her mother, small trinkets gathered over time, the musical instruments that anchor her creative world. This series documents those details — fragments of space that together form a portrait of who she is.

About The Artist

A square image with a grainy texture. The background is a vertical gradient from a muted dark blue at the top to a pale blue-white at the bottom. Centered on this gradient are the words 'Inhale' in solid white, stacked above 'Exhale', also in white but with a translucent, fading effect that becomes more transparent downwards.
