Almost Noticed

From a dark vantage point, possibly a staircase or ramp, railings frame a nighttime scene of a university or urban campus. In the midground, a brightly lit ice rink occupies a central plaza, surrounded by small, bare trees and warm ground-level pathway lights. In the background, modern multi-story buildings glow with countless illuminated windows, and a raised walkway connects structures, all under a dark sky with prominent, dual-fixture streetlights.

Almost Noticed is a video and sound installation that explores attention within overlooked spaces. The video and audio are presented separately in the installation, creating a shifting experience that changes with the viewer's position and duration. The work does not direct attention but instead creates a condition for noticing.

About The Artist

A front-facing, half-body portrait of a young East Asian woman with straight, glossy black hair parted down the middle, falling over her shoulders. She has a subtle, neutral expression with a slight smirk and is looking directly at the camera. She wears a zippered black leather jacket over a white collared shirt, set against a plain white background.
