Life can be peculiar. One day you are experiencing the purest joy; the next, mourning a loved one. The heartache caused by death is sometimes the hardest to overcome, and yet it is an inevitable part of the human experience that we will all come to know. Set against the backdrop of San Francisco, where my mother’s family resides, It Felt Like Yesterday looks at the absence and presence of both people and memory. Through this project, I navigate mourning, remembering, and reflecting on the universal experience of life, death, and the passage of time.
This project is dedicated to my Gung Gung.
