Through this project, I aimed to document a historical and political moment that occurred in my city of Toronto on October 5th, 2024. Core to understanding any political movement is understanding its rhetoric and the [inter]sectionality surrounding it. To this purpose, many of the images included in this series seek to highlight the rhetoric employed by demonstrators on their flags and signs. Rather than providing any major analysis of my own, I want the viewer to render their own judgements. I realize that it is impossible for any photograph to be truly neutral, but it is my hope that the images speak for themselves as much as they can as documentary evidence of the protest.
