Mapping is an exploratory method of expression through documentation and/or storytelling. This project, titled I Feel You With Me, Always, not only represents but symbolizes my relationship with my grandmother, Marian. My grandmother sadly passed away in 2001, before I was born. It is unfortunate that I was not given an opportunity to meet her. But Marian lives on in the afterlife as a loved and cherished family member, missed by many. This carefully considered project is a photo essay motivated with love and curiosity. Each photo portrays my connection with her through not life, but memorabilia and artifacts of hers that lived on to keep her memory alive. Being able to appreciate these artifacts with context is something that I deeply treasure. I appreciate the heartfelt stories and facts about her and I am so grateful to my mother for sharing her love for her mother with these remaining objects and archived photos.
