An overhead shot of a faceless figure dressed entirely in white, lying down spread-eagled in a field of green grass. Shadows engulf the edge of the frame, with the grassy field fading out into darkness.

The concept of immortality and eternity is near unfathomable for the mortal mind. This photo series explores the deterioration of the human condition over a hypothetically infinite period of time, where all personality and identity eventually loses meaning. I think it is the finite nature of our lives that provides us this meaning. The threat of losing everything is what drives people forward. To be deprived of that threat, then, is to lose the incentive to live. It’s ironic that many powerful individuals throughout history have sought immortality when it could perhaps be the worst curse to place on any mortal soul. But what if immortality were possible? What effect would it have on the human consciousness?

How does one show eternity through photography anyway? There are many different ways, depending on personal experiences as well as fears. This is my idea of eternity.
