belly relates to my personal experiences of anxieties, insecurities and intuitions, and summarizes my gut instincts about where I wish to take my life as a young adult. It is about the rediscovery that young women experience in their early twenties, a rediscovery that I am experiencing myself. I have been working to find my place in a male-dominated field that holds many artists to a white-cube-gallery standard, one that I wish to stand apart from. This series explores the intersection of identity, image-making, and the personal realms we inhabit. I am invested in the ways visual culture both shapes and reflects our sense of self.
My work often centers on themes of girlhood, identity, and the emotional resonance of our spaces, drawing from my own experiences and the energies that bring us together. In some ways, my work reflects a world where solidarity, particularly between women, becomes a source of strength, protection, and intimacy. My photographs aim to capture moments that feel unfiltered, real, and imbued with personal expression, where fashion and identity coexist without hierarchy.
Ultimately, my work is a conversation about seeing and being seen. I make art to better understand myself and the world around me, and to invite others into that journey of discovery. I seek to create spaces where identity is not just presented but lived, where the complexities of human connection and personal agency are given room to breathe. Through the lens of both individual and collective experience, I explore what it means to be seen, known, and, in turn, to know others.
