A photo of a picture frame containing an image of a child and his grandparents. The frame produces motion and light streaks as though it were being flung from the right side of the picture into a blank space.

Inspired by “Unforgettable,” one of Nat King Cole’s greatest songs, I created this series to produce visual representations of what memories look like. A memory is something unique to each of us, acting as a locket containing both the best and worst moments of our lives. When we think of a memory, we never see a clear picture, yet we see just enough to take us on a journey through time, something I eagerly wanted to capture with this series of photographs. Anything—a person, an object, or a place—has the power to evoke memories and transport us back in time. I hope that when people view my artwork, they will be able to travel back in time and explore cherished memories.
