Mapping a Legacy is a visual exploration of familial history, blending both the past and present. This series is an intimate look into the lives of the grandparents who I never met, but who have left a significant impact on my life. It is a journey of discovery, an attempt to honour my family’s legacy and to remember them. Through projections, patience, and approximately thirty pounds of family archives, Mapping a Legacy is a dynamic conversation across time and space, where the past is projected onto the walls of my present. This conversation has allowed me to better understand my family’s history, my own identity, and the legacy of those who came before me. It has also allowed me to connect more deeply with those who came after them. Join me in this visual journey as I map the imprints of my family’s past on the current landscape of my own existence.
