Looking down over some bushes from a road just above, dairy cows can be scene grazing a very small piece of land. A small yard of a farmer. While the dairy cows graze, two stand in the middle, bashing their small horns into one another. It is hard to tell whether it is playful or serious. The surrounding cows do not look concerned. They continue to graze and eat the grass from the field.

This image is part of a longer series from 2024 titled “Sonder”. In May of 2024, I met with my father in Spain to finish the last of his Camino with him. He had already been walking for 30 or so days before I joined him. Together, we would walk the last 100km. Each day, for 5 days we woke up at dawn and walked into the late afternoon. This project is not only a reflection of the trip itself, but on our relationship on a larger scale. This trip, I saw my father as a man outside of his paternal role, as a man with an entire life as strange and complicated as my own.
