I like to think of October as a month of change – the season changes, plants bloom and wither, the nights get longer, the temperature drops drastically, birds migrate to warmer places, and animals start to prepare for hibernation.
In this project, I set up my camera in my backyard and took a picture at around 17:00 every day – the beginning of the end of a day. The time I spent outside in my backyard while shooting allowed me to immerse myself fully in the place I have been living in for the past few years. I have enlarged the small changes I observed to let myself reflect on the day based on them – they can be attempts at poetry or random words.
Embracing these changes increases an appreciation for the brief moments that collectively define our lives, allowing us to appreciate the beauty inherent in the mapping of the passage of time.
