I call this project rip. I shot a series of simple portraits and then invited the subjects of the images to physically destroy their own print through ripping it. I like to think of the images as physical representations of the individuals, making this a kind of symbolic act of self-destruction. By doing this, I aim to encourage introspection and prompt a deeper exploration of the self.
I would like to encourage viewers to recreate this on their own. It does not matter what camera or printer you use, as long as you can see yourself clearly in the image. The quality is irrelevant, it is the act of destruction that is important.
