Ask A Punk is a semi-autobiographical collection of photos that I have taken whilst becoming a part of a smaller Toronto community. I have always loved the music. There are people who you will find who also care. The venues and places where we find these people are simultaneously non-important, as we will take whatever space we are given. And most importantly, where else would we go? Hold on to your people as long as you can and care for them. They are your own.
Syd Deneau is a 20-year-old photographer based in Toronto. They are currently attending Toronto Metropolitan University in the Photography Media Arts program. They work primarily in editorial, music and fashion photography, working with wide angles and strange lighting to create an unsettling mood consistent throughout their portfolio. Their work takes inspiration from horror media and the human figure to produce emotional connection through event photography.
