Within The Dark is a project depicting the idea of fear. However, I did not choose to make the feeling of fear entirely clear to the viewer, as I believe fear is felt in many different ways. As a horror movie lover, I looked to older movies for inspiration to help create the fear aspect. These images are edited in black-and-stark-white to mimic posters of movies such as The Exorcist and Poltergeist. Through my work, I hope you are able to see some representation of fear with a visually appealing character. As I feel new to this process of work, I am looking forward to diving into this style of work and learning more about refining my work.

With a long-lasting passion for film, Ria looks to directors such Christopher Nolan and Damien Chazelle for inspiration.
